Title: MK3 Wiper stopped
Post by: Mikehamid on 02 November 2014, 18:13
Hi guys, I did a search but couldn't find exactly what I wanted. One of my front wipers on my MK3 got stuck today and won't work at all. The driver's side still works fine, but the passenger side is stuck. Any ideas on the culprit and how to replace it?

Check if it's not only the nut that's come loose.
If that's solid then look at mechanics.... take the trim at bottom of windscreen off and then you'll be able to see them.

Thanks for the help man. Turns out it is in fact the mechanism as a whole. I'm tempted to break it and buy something else at this stage to be honest. Just spent £400 on the exhaust and top mounts too and need a new starter motor.

What exhaust did you get @400£ (top mounts are not that expensive)???

Starter motor is a bit fiddly but one Sat afternoon and job done. You'll find that few cars have as cheap parts as mk3s .... and they are easy to work on (which is why I kept mine going to the point where it was no longer sensible).
