i have just bought a mk1 golf with a smashed up front and i need to know what does the front panel consist of? is it including the slam panel?

where can i get a front cross member?

Not sure how they come, however you might do better to cut the front end off one at a scrappy. There is one in good condition up my way at Berkshire Car spares that would be a suitable donor, although they are pricey. There is another one at Aldershot car spares, can't remember what the condition of the front end was like (as I was looking for a dashboard at the time) but they are well set up and cheap. If you're not local, well worth a try down your local scrappy.
