Title: DLR brightness
Post by: dippy_x on 30 October 2014, 11:10
Has anyone else noticed that the U shaped DLRs dont always seem to have a uniform brightness all the way through the 'U' shape?

Sometimes it looks like parts of the 'U' are dimmer than others.  I thought it was just me but noticed it again yesterday while crawling along in traffic on the bypass.  A white GTD crept past me and I couldn't help noticing that bits of the DLRs on it looked dimmer than other bits.

The lines on the DLR's just dont seem to be as clean as other cars that drive past (eg Audis, Seats etc).

Anyone else noticed this or is it a trip to specsavers for me?

I think its cause the U shaped bit is a lens rather than the light source itself as on Audi's etc....

It is also worth noting that the DRLs dim when you put side or headlights on. Although this can be changed with VCDS

Mark I think you maybe on to something here.

Even with the lights off - if you look at the 'U' there is a pattern there and depending on how the light hits it part of the 'U' looks duller than the other parts.

Is the Lens needed becauses of the Xenons?
