Got into conversation about what would you do if your ran someone over whilst out riding, so am looking at getting the above. This would alsohelp if you were knocked off your bike or it was stolen
So...
Anyone got it?
What level of cover?
How much do you pay and who is it with?

It is essential if you plan to commute in a big city.
costs upwards of 40 a year dependent on cover iirrc the British cycle federation or whatever it's called offer it through membership.
I had all sorts of trouble after a fight with a pajero and ended up with solicitors and threat of court.
Insurance would have taken care of it for me and covered me if I was less lucky.......

NB these don't cover theft at which point adding a bike to your house insurance is normally the best method.

If you are mad enough to cycle on a main/busy road, then you should need insurance along with common road safety/driving knowledge as a basic and it should be enforced.

would home insurance cover something like this? maybe not theft away from home unless u request it, but home insurance usually covers legal fees (to a value) dont they? could this extend to a situation like u've described?

British cycling for me. I don't cycle on the main roads (commute) now the dark nights are here, but Im just as likely to get wiped out at 10am on a country lane.
Seem to remember it being around £40, my bike isn't so flash around £1400 to buy so its worth it I think.
Not sure if it covers other stuff though, like my £300 garmin and Id probably have my S5 in my pocket, dont know if thats covered if I get knocked off and land on it?

It's not always cyclists fault mind! Yes, some have a death wish, but I sometimes ride to work and the utter f**king retards on the roads nowadays is.frightening! I've been almost nicked off twice at crossings, where on both occasions a woman, in a Ford Focus, has squeezed me onto the pavement whilst cutting in as there is an island. It always seems to be women who wait for ages behind you when traffic is coming the other way, then when it clears they pass you leaving about 3mm between your elbow and their wing mirror. This is at the point where there is a whole extra bloody lane for them to pass! Disgraceful! :angry:
