Title: Mk3 - CHAVmobile or not???
Post by: fingermouse1911 on 13 September 2005, 00:40: Tatty examples of the Mk2 range have been seen on various council estates for some time now with the Mk1 range becoming a very hard to find classic.Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â While the Mk4 range is still relatively safe - the release of the new Mk5 range has inevitably caused Mk3 prices to take a minor nosedive.

What are your thoughts on this - Are you able to carry out your own local survey?Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Inquiring minds want to know!Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Any posted photo's of Chavved up Mk3's appreciatedÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â :wink:

Some may say all the above kind of generic tat is down to personal taste, IMO lack of personal taste :rolleyes:.

There are some very smart looking VWs out there and particularly on this forum, makes me very sad when I see chavved up examples about :cry:.

Eh? What were you expecting? Everyone on here to put their hand up and say "Yes! Yes I doÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â I drive a mk3 chav mobile" What a pointless thread. Apart from the MK1 Golf I'd say the Mk3 is by far the last choice of our nylon-loving cousins . Poor, council estate Chav goes for the mk2, well-off but tasteless Chav goes for the Mk4.

Any car can be "chavved" up, I've seen everything from the ubiquitous Corsas and saxos to TVRs, Lotus's and Fezzas which have all been blighted by the hand of some fookwit with a Halfords account card. You don't automatically develop good taste once you spend over a certain amount on your car. In fact I'd say most of the well-off people I know have absolutely no taste whatsoever.
