Just wondering if anybody knows what bluetooth module I will need (part number) for my gti on a 60 plate, there seem to be a few different ones in eBay and also some very cheap ones on the Chinese eBay which appear to have loads of different part numbers, I have a rcd 510 with reverse camera if this helps. Thanks in advance

I've fitted a couple of these kits. They are different to most in that they have additional plugs in the harness that enables you to be able to plug the mic wire in where required depending on which radio you have. Some are pre-wired for voice control, so need adapting if you don't have that. This kit really is plug and play (with the exception of coding and running the mic wire to the roof console)

Thanks very much for the reply but have you seen the price of them on the Chinese eBay? You can get them for about £50 £60 and appear to have genuine part numbers with all the wireing would it be worth a punt on one of those? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/201119385725?nav=SEARCH

That one doesn't appear to have he harness required to retro fit the kit into a car that didn't have bluetooth from the factory. The kit in my link has a 'Y' harness that plugs between the radio and the bluetooth module.
-
Ohh ok I see, so is it hard to source some other cables if it's going to save me over £100 buying from China?
-
The 'Y' harness is an aftermarket part, generally made by the people that supply the retro fit kits. I'm sure they will sell you one, but personally I'd rather buy the complete kit from someone within a reasonable drive from home should there be a problem. Even if it does cost a few pounds more.

Yea I see what you mean I guess your right really if there is a problem with it I'm going to have more of a problem sending it back to China, sorry to pickle your head but would you mind telling me what you think about this one if I buy wires separate, sorry and thanks again. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/261631606458?nav=WATCHING_ACTIVE

Anyone know what the latest version part number is out of this lot :undecided:

Go for the 9W7 if you can. That's what came with my Golf, integrated perfectly with the RCD 510 and Highline display. Supports my iPhone for calls and music streaming.
-
What's the difference between that and the 9w2? And can you dial and answer calls through the head unit or just the steering wheel buttons?

Not sure on difference but yes on mine can dial via both head unit and mfsw

Changed mine for a 9w7 .
Have an extra wire which went in to original module with a purple connection on it no where to plug in on new module.
All working ok apart from unable to see contact list on head unit. Can see on mfd and can make and receive calls .
Any help would be appreciated.
