OK, I know this question is a bit "our there", but just trawling though the bay, I've seen on the German Ebay quite a few brand new MK7 lane assist cameras (the Bosch unit), for just over the £100 mark and was wondering how easy this would be to retrofit ?
I know that strictly it does call for a new windscreen (although I've heard of people installing it without changing the windscreen). Is it just a case of the camera, the wiring harness (which Kufatec sells), the trim piece that goes over it and then some coding ?
I'd really like the traffic sign recognition on mine as I tried to spec the car with it, but at the time VW told me my car couldn't be configured with it, now it's available.

I'm not sure but is there not a possibility that there will be something a miss with your car if VW couldn't do it back when you ordered it?
I remember the lower golfs could have the lane assist but not the GTI/GTD as at the time it wasn't physically possible so maybe they have had to re do something and simply buying the parts wouldn't be enough!
Just thinking out aloud

I wonder, subject to the control modules supporting it, whether retrofitting one of these cameras would open up the possibility of activating a few different 'options' via VCDS that VW charge you extra for?
A bit like XDS could be activated for free on a scirocco despite it being an expensive extra.

I'm sure it can be done. I can provide scans if you want them Andrew.
The dynamic light assist requires different headlights.

Retrofit options would worry me to be honest, I'm too safe/worried when it comes to tinkering with the standard car.
Let us know how you get on though  thanks
