I've got a 2014 GTI, and have noticed that there is s dent in the exhaust pipe about level with the left-side rear wheel. I've checked another GTI and that car has the same dent in the same place. Just wondering if VW put the dent in the pipes for some reason?

Doubtful, cant see why youd want to create disruption in the exhaust flow, especially at the end. Mightve been caused during transport.
Another reason to get a decent aftermarket exhaust system

I have a knocking coming from the nearside rear of my R when it gets warm, i wonder if others with GTI's have the same problem and the factory have done a temp fix till a permanent one is sorted??

Sounds like this is most likely James, be interesting if they just take a hammer to yours to fix it?

The GTI exhaust pipe has the same diameter as the excellent GTI thermo mug.
Push button and keeps coffee hot for several hours.

Hi Jimble
My R has developed this knock/rattle too - only happens when the car is warmed up. Did you get yours fixed or find out what the cause is? I am going to get mine booked in.......
