I Bought a gps aerial for my alpine sat nav head unit, it should arrive tomorrow. Just wanted to know where would be the best place to fit it. I was thinking about mounting it by the hazard switch.
Thanks

hasn't it got to be able to see the sky? Somewhere on the top of the dash should suffice I guess!
-
i would say on the dash next to the o/s speaker grille, thats where i used to have my Geodesy GPS in my old mk3 VR6

Thanks for the replies.
yeah your right, it would need to see the sky. Hopefully should come today!  Just wondering how the cable would be run so it comes from the back and on top of dash, so you don't see any wire from the front, havent had a proper look yet.
-
behind the windscreen I'd have thought, then go across to the sides...
-
 it didn't come today, maybe tomorrow
-
 Nope, still no sign today. i'm starting to wonder if i got skanked cos i got it off Ebay! :embarassed:

Missed the post person this morning , they left the red card, so i have something to collect at the post office. Hope this is it
-
if you get any trouble finding somewhere to get the lead into the dash I'll have a look at where my phone aerial goes... know there's a gap on the passenger side facing the door somewhere!
-
 yeh, it was it. fitted it now aswel . Only one problem now  the navi disc i have aren't working, it comes up as error n001, the book rekons the wrong disc's, gotta try and find the right ones. fitted it from the back of the head unit then down by the fuse box and up to the top of the dash by the speaker.
Thanks for all the help.

Might sound a bit dumb here, but I was in South Africa for a while. This GPS thingy, was do you use it for in the car. I have heard in the uk that people are able to use there laptops in their cars, coneting to the internet etc. Is this being doing via a cellphone or what. I want these things in my car now.

You can get GPS network cards for your laptop, so you can connect to the internet on the move, i think they are pay monthly contract?
