So I usually use spotify via Bluetooth and works a peach. My in car charger has gone caput (iphone 5) so now I have connected my 30 pin to lightning converter to the media cable under the ac controls.
It picks up the audio that is in the Music section of the phone and shows the details on the screen. However if I kill the music app and try and play spotify it doesn't show the correct details on the screen as it continues to show the last song played from my music.
I'm sorry if this has been covered before but a quick search didn't show anything. Does anyone know how I can get the spotify info to show on screen as it does when I play it via Bluetooth if I am using the media connection.
Thanks.

I have always found when connected via any cable I get the first song played info and album cover but then following songs it retains the same information. I find it better on bluetooth as you can advance forward and back on the steering whilst listening to spotify via bluetooth and it shows the song title but no album covers. (I hope that makes sense!)

It does and that's my gripe. Because when connected via cable the Bluetooth audio is unavailable.

Well glad I am not the only one that finds it strange. How can a wireless connection be more advanced then taking it through a media cable??

Is it possible to stop it playing straight away when you plug the cable in??

I have found that plugging my iPhone in via the cable straight away before the system turns on causes it to act all crazy and not turn on for a few minutes whilst it recognises the cable connection. Suffice it to say this is one thing vw definitely need to improve.
