I bought this off ebay..
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK7-GTI-FOOTREST-R32-TURBO-EXCLUSIVE-WITH-OEM-BLACK-RUBBER-BACKING-/171389404081?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27e79ac3b1
Anyone fitted one? It has bolts so I have to get behind the plastic one that's already there. How do I do this?
Thanks

Are those bolts or short self tapping screws it comes with? Seen older versions of the same footrest that come with self tappers to bite into the plastic footrest already fitted.

I would be interested to see one in situation, not sure how it will match the standard pedals...

Looks a close match, except on the standard pedals the black rubber is proud of the holes in the steel plate and on the pedal rest there it is sat behind the holes, giving the black rubber contrast against the brushed steel, but also looking as though it would act as a muck trap.

They are nuts and bolts, so I think I'll have to get behind the footrest to install it. If i can't I'll just stick it on.
2 things which I think they've cut corners on is the footrest which just looks plastiky, and the mirror adjustment knob which is really flimsy.

You are thinking about your old Scirocco/Mk.6 ! The Mk.7 has recessed holes (which are mud traps, lol).....

Yes I was, assumed they were similar on the MK7 without having gotten down there for a look.
Someone used to sell these footrest on the forums, and used to supply self tappers with allen bolt tops for a rock-solid fix, or adhesive pads which failed over time (generally) - was the seller called Osiris or something similar?

You thinking of these from OSIR MH ?

Sootchucker - Yep. Thought the new ones were looking very similar (good match to OEM).
