I understand this is a common problem but since we have had our golf the warning light for the handbrake is always on even when the handbrake is off.
Have replaced the switch, just replaced the sensor for brake fluid and still stays on!
Will check the brake fluid levels in a bit, but does anyone else know what the problem could be?
I've read it could be an ABS problem, but how would I know if it is the ABS?
It has it's MOT Friday and will probably fail on this problem so really need it sorted!
Thanks, Ambz :)

any fault codes?
wiring to the brake fluid reservoir sender ok? what happens if you bridge the contacts in the plug that goes on the sensor.
-
Most likley the fluid is low.
-
Fluid is full so isn't that, yeah I thought about checking the wiring etc so that's next!
-
Brake fluid, brake fluid floater faulty, handbrake switch faulty or a sensor is faulty.
-
Have the codes read, when mine stayed on the fault was in the abs module itself so I sent it for repair

The car has had its pads changed so will also check the pad sensors see if they have been tampered with.
Thanks for every bodies help :)

ABS brake bias failure, get it scanned.
