Title: my rear lights!!!
Post by: Sugar79 on 12 September 2005, 14:00
does anyone have any problems in putting a fog light bulb in to the rear light cluster, i didnt on my standard GTi lights but since ive had the hella magic colours on i cant have a fog light  it goes in to the bulb holder but there is no room to line up the bulbs with there correct holes in the back and the fog light bulb catches on the back of the cluster and wont go in

ive gotta have an MOT soon and i need a rear fog light

when I did my half tints on the mk2 i had to cut a hole in the nearside light for the fog bulb to go into. small tile cutter blade did it in about 5 mins... Then I ran a wire across to the other side so I had 2 fogs, not just the one... D'y'getmee?

yeah but i shouldnt have to cut, the rear of the clusters looks the same as the rear on the standard lights.. its a pain to get them lights on or off, my boyfriend isnt gonna like me when i ask him to get it off again lol

Yeah I thought that but I think the colour magics are designed for (and by) Germainians and their foggers are on the other side.... So if you had to take the bulb out to put them on, you'll have to take the 'cover' out to put the bulb in, if you see what I mean.... And if he whinges, don't cook tea!

i managed to do it yay!!! i lost my temper with it so i gave the bulb holder and the wiring loom a hard tug (maybe not a great idea!) but anyway it gave me some movement with the bulb holder and i managed to lift the bulb over the bit of plastic that was stopping it from going in yay!!!

just hope the car passes the MOT, i have a feeling it wont... its not very environmentally friendly at the moment lol
