Buy a 500 quid 2.0 GTI, stick some bland looking alloys on it, get it MOT'd, put a few car park scrapes in it, knock the tracking out, loosen the exhaust and make the starter squeal a bit and it's worth 3.25 grand!?

Anyone wanna buy a TDI with no gearbox and a rusty wing for £6000?

thats the thing though nowerdays, people spend thousands on a pair of rotiforms which if you actually look at them, are f**king horrible most of the time, and if there not there bland.

the amount of cars you see on ebay going for silly money because there "show cars". if you have a proper look there a standard car with ebay coilovers set to there lowest setting because its "sweet as fook dude, sceen points +++" and a set of alloys worth more than the whole car and normally a set of rs4 or simelar seats.

and if you look, most of them are VAG and that is why i have stoped going to VAG car shows and am slowly falling out of love with the scene.

last few cars shows i have been to have been one hosted at a race track with a load of lotuses that were used properly and taken around the track for around 3 hours. and a specialist car show full of ferrari lambo mclarren etc. and to be honist, the people at these car shows were less protentious than the people at the last few VAG car shows iv been to whos air ride was funded by mom and dad and spend around 4 hours of the 6 hour show cleaning there car even though they spent the previous two days polishing and cleaning in preperation...

I sold my suspension and wheels for twice what the car sold for

Does that make me pretentious?

Btw, none of my car was funded by anyone other than myself
