Title: GT Front badge.

Afternoon folks,

I want to badge up the GT like it should be.  some say the mk5 fits, others say a Mk GT petrol came with a badge.


cant find anything on here so anyone got part numbers or links.

They don't have them since its not technically a GT per se. They are actually Sportline models that VW UK marketed and advertised as GT. Looks nice enough without the badge IMO  :smiley:

Since we spoke via pm, I have searched the VW approved used site and Autotrader to get the reg of a petrol GT with a grille badge. I can't find one anywhere, however distinctively remember seeing then with them when the Mk6 first came out.

I spoke to a mate who is a VW parts guru and he cant find one on there listing either  :lipsrsealed:

hey ho - so its a modified Mk6 GTD badge or a made to fit mk5 gt  :undecided:

then do i remove the 2.0 tdi badges to GT it up or not ,  :huh:

I had my rear badges removed before delivery from new. I don't like cleaning around them, the little dirt collectors. Love the blank look at the back too.

Its a straight fit for a Lupo badge. Although it was a while ago I bought it so I'll need to double check.

They never came with them on from the factory. I think I went through all VW's badges before I found one that fitted  :rolleyes:
