Title: IPhone 6 Compatibility

Hi,

I picked up my GTI today and plugged in my iPhone 6 into the car, all it does is continue to say its looking for a media device.

Has anyone managed to sync their iPhone 6 with the car using the cable?

Hi,

I have not tried plugging mine in yet. It did take me 3 hours and a similar number of software resets to get the bluetooth to correct correctly, and it still will not play music over the bluetooth connection.  I will be interested to see how you get on

Hi,

I have tried with Bluetooth and it works fine, it is the cable which is the issue.

When connecting on Bluetooth is was quick so you should not have any problems.

Which cable are you using - MDI or USB to Lightning? Green collar?

It is the MDI cable the specific Volkswagen one. I do not have a USB slot in my car well I have not found it yet. :smiley:

Just looked it is the white jacket. Update I have tried my sons IPhone 5 and it does the same thing the phone just vibrates on and off .

You need the cable with the green collar. White is for Golf Mk6.

Thanks when I picked the car up today from VW.

The salesman said he threw the cable in as the car had 85 miles on the clock as it was collected from another branch. 

So not sure where I stand on this will they give me the correct cable?

Definitely. They should have given you the correct lead for the Mk7 - the one with the green collar. Show them the correct part number if they don't believe you. You're not alone in this - most dealers seem clueless about the correct lead they need to give you.

I got mine from Kettering VW, I also need to ask why a brand new car is saying 'Oil Change In 12 Days'.

Another question for the dealer on your visit. Could be related to how it's been set up for either Time and Distance or Long Life servicing.

VW Kettering replaced the cable no problems and reset the service interval.
