Title: R32 rear bumper/R32 rear arch liners fitment problem!
Post by: 20Benson on 12 September 2005, 11:46
I recently won an original R32 rear bumper on Ebay and have since had it sprayed, I fitted it to my car on the weekend. The bumper has gone on ok but I have a couple of questions! My car is a 1999 Mark 4 GTi 1.8T

1) Should the rear towing eye be in line with the right hand exhaust cut out?? Else how will I fit the miltek R32 style exhaust to the car??

2) I bought the original R32 rear arch liners, seperately so that they would fit to the bumper exactly however they have no suspension strut cut outs in them so do not fit, why is this? Is it cos my cars not 4motion or something? Can I get any arch liners that will fit to the rear bumper as required. I.E. with the extra depth that the R32 rear bumper has.

Look forward to any insight you Guru's can give me!
Thanks in advance!

i dont think r32 arch liners will fit properly as the supension set up/drivetrain is totally different!!! if you had a r32/4 motion they would fit, not to sure on your course of action but im sure between your existing arch liners and the new ones you can make up some new ones that will fit a treat.. either by cutting and plastic welding them, or cutting them oversized and riveting them together, there only splash guards after all and nothing structural, post some pics of what yas upto so we can see more clearly!!
