My Mk 7 GTI PP DSG has just undergone an update under the above campaign , which apparently affects, amongst other things the hand brake and ,interestingly the front wheel differentials . Anybody able to through any light on what is involved and why the update was necessary please? Thanks
-
No update appears to be available for mine. Might be just depending on BW.
-
I had the update a few weeks back. No idea what the issue was but all I know is now my handbrake is now much quieter and smoother in operation.

I have just got my GTI performance back from its first service and it has had a recall applied, does not say why but the details are:
Carried out workshop action
45D4 2014-04-02 S-Golf service measure 03
V000 010 006 C03C1A Sticker
V04L 130 235 G C03K3A Pipe
I know any sticker fitted by a master tech must be worth 10bhp but does anyone know what Pipe was changed and why - the garage is not too forthcoming.
Thanks

someone with ekta should be able to come along and tell us what that pipe is for. ive just had a service but never read the report that came with it, might go find it

i had my first service yesterday and also had a recall done , all it says is 45D4 carried out.

"On 02.04.2014 VW launched action number 45D4 for 1.2 tsi and 1.4 tsi Golf 7 which is about upgrading the software in the ECU (engine management software), plus recoding and updating computers in the front doors (related to confort computers responsible for opening and closing doors and windows) and the EPB (electronic parking brakes, including dissengagement of Auto Hold); there is also some more recoding for the GTI 2.0tfsi models"

But ive just checked mine and I have no notes on it at all

Interesting but the replacement of a 'Pipe' indicates something other than a simple recoding, any info on the 'more GTI coding ' and what it was for?

sorry Vid just answering aidey's question
-
When i asked at the garage they said it was just a software update
-
when i google your pipe part number i get a few close matches but they are for tdi fuel lines?
-
Phone your dealership again and make it clear that you want to know exactly what was replaced. At the end of the day it is your car which you have paid for, you are entitled to know details of the work carried out.
-
The pipe is the return from the injectors on the 1.6 and 2.0 tdi's
The part is not listed for any petrol engine...

Just had a talk with the service manager and he said that it is a software update as stated above but that the 'Pipe' is indeed a fuel return pipe and was mandated for replacement by VW for my chassis number - so is applicable to petrol engined GTis - not sure why the PN appears to show its a diesel part.
All just part of the VW continuous improvement policy apparently

hmm they must not like mine then lol
