Title: Brake pad wear indicator etc
Post by: Jammy1 on 26 September 2014, 10:38
Hi All

On my previous BMW and the Wife's Mini there are a range of service items that count down.  One example is the front and rear brake pads.  You'd basically get a 'miles left' countdown to when they need changing. There was also this feature for brake fluid and the other service elements.  Unless I'm being really stupid, possible, I can only see the countdown for the oil change and inspection services.  Is there any more detail hidden elsewhere?

PS
I'm of the long life service regime.

Thanks.

James.

It will let you know when your tyre pressures are low and also when you're about to run out of washer fluid. I'm not sure about brake pads though.

It's got brake pad wear sensors that will produce a warning light on the dash. It won't however tell you how many miles you have left on your brakes and I'm not entirely sure how BMW manage this.
