Hi all, I have had a knocking/ rattling noise underneath the car, and it has been doing my head in.
Finally I have found the problem. It is a small spring underneath the car, towards the rear drivers side wheel. (It's a LHD so passenger side to you guys).
The spring is still rattling and loose, but I don't know what the spring is. I have uploaded a picture. Advise and solution would be great.

its the spring on the brake load sensing valve. you can adjust the bolt and nut on the bottom of it until the looseness just comes out of the spring and no more(car must be sitting at normal ride height while adjusting) pretty sure that's how its done but you should look it up just to be certain.

Might be effecting your rear brake bias if broken. It's supposed to give more rear brakes depending in the load over the rear axel.

If the lever on the load compensator is seized, replacement is necessary. Nobody likes the rear brakes locking up before the front
