Title: Identify this!
Post by: Waspy on 24 September 2014, 19:56
As you can see, mine is covered in melted plastic, but I'm on about that black plastic cylinder to the right. It is located behind the grill on the drivers side. A couple of wires run to/from it.

Any ideas?

Dim dip resistor.  Designed to put dipped headlights on dimly whenever sidelights are on.  Not required. Notorious for causing loom fires when the insulation chafes away against the chassis leg and causes shorts.

Unplug and remove.  Sleeve loom wires if required to avoid future problems. Done.
