I'm trying to get my head around this one. It's the first time i've had a car with an agreed annual milage. I've tried to search the internet to find out how this works but the way it's worded is so confusing. So i'm looking for a simple answer;
Agreed Annual Milage on VW Solutions. If it's agreed 10,000 annual milage over a 3 year contract do you pay excess milage charges if it goes in for it's 1 year service with over 10,000 miles on the clock or do you only pay charges if the car is over 30,000 miles at the end of the 3 year contract?
Of course annual indicates it's 10,000 a year. But the only way I can see them checking the car's annual milage is when it goes in for a service and since you can get the car serviced a little early then you can kind of skip around this issue.

Pre agreed mileage only matters if you hand the car back to VW and walk away. If you trade car in then it doesn't matter.

Right, so your milage doesn't mean anything at all until the end of your agreement if you hand your car back?
So if you took your car in for it's 1 year service with let's say 11,000 miles on the clock when you had an agreed annual milage of 10,000 then VW won't blink an eye, care or charge you excess milage?

As said it's only when it's handed back, if you don't trade it in or pay it back. I've an agreed annual mileage of 5k and its just been into VW for its 20k service within the first year.

Yep, you get charged for excess at end of term.
Same for me.... 36k on the car after 10 months. Am only meant to do 100k in 36m :whistle:

If you hand back the car and walk away (because they’d offer you less than GFV as part/ex – you’d need an economic collapse for that to happen or VW’s reputation to crumble), they’ll want the excess charge out of you. If you part-ex the car, the part-ex will be valued based on age/condition/mileage (if they’re not taking the piss with their valuation).
In either case, if you’re at 11k miles and you should be at £10k at year 1, that’s £60 at 6ppm, it will not have a noticeable bearing on your part-ex price.

How does this work when you come to get a new car?

The 'deposit' amount from your current car will be less.
In other words, if you only do the agreed mileage, you might get £3k towards your next car.
If you do a lot more than the agreed mileage, you might only get £2k towards your next car.

Anywhere between Truro and Glasgow, Carmarthen and Gt. Yarmouth.... and also went for a holiday to Scandinavia in it :D

How does this work when you come to get a new car?
It tends to even itself out.
Low mileage = lower monthly payments and higher GFV
High mileage = higher monthly payments and lower GFV
If you tell VW you do 5k miles a year and end up doing 20k a year, you pay a lower monthly payment but come trade in time you will be offered less and your GFV will be high as they expect the car to only have done 15k over 36 months. So what you have saved in the monthly's you pay back at the end of the term :rolleyes:
Otherwise everyone would be claiming they do a low mileage.

I do mine with a 10k limit. I have currently done 17k in 6 months, but mine worked out cheaper this way than setting it up at 25k a year lease. Weirdly doing it this way costs me 6ppm but if I set up an agreed 25k it would cost me 8ppm in extra lease charges.
