Title: 2003 v5 2.3 petrol wipers

Just purchased a wonderful Vw v5 2.3 petrol.
Totally amazed at its road holding, speed and natural beauty.
Very chuffed
But I have 1 minor problem...
The rear wiper tends to start up with the car and can continue to run for 40 seconds to 3 mins at which time it will stop at any part of the rear screen.
Help it's driving me nuts.

Plus I tried out the motor on a run to norfolk.  Next to no stopping and took it careful as just purchased.
On my life it showed 43.6 mpg

I just removed mine ( as do most guys , and put a decent rain repellent on the rear window. If you dont want to go down that route i would suspect the stalk switch may be faulty ?
