Title: Gearstick change

Just fitted a cable shifter into my rocco. Want to use the original curved gear stick on the cable shifter. Has anyone got any ideas of the best way to cut off the mk4 gear stick and attach the rocco one securely? Currently planned to sleeve and weld it but there may be a better way.

Just brain storming before I start to cut anything. Has anyone done a similar thing when installing the cable shifter into their mk2.

All ideas welcome  :grin:

if it is all apart anyway just sleeve it and weld it. but make sure and sleeve it as I buttwelded a gearstick on my escort back in 98(ah good ole days :grin:) and 1 angry gearchange saw it fall apart on me :cry:
