Friend was asking today.
Also what work is involved to fit a ko4 and is there much gain cheers
-
the difference is 30bhp.

the difference is 30bhp.
That can vary
r-techs stage2+ on k03s can see up to around 260bhp
and i think k03 tops 210bhp max with it being modded to f*ck

the difference is 30bhp.
A standard K03 is 150bhp and yes a standard K03s is 180bhp (on some models) so it is 30 bhp but only at stock, when you start mapping the gains are much more and so is the torque

k03 you may see around 190bhp when modified and maped.
k03s you may see around 200-230bhp depending on how modified. (260 as quoted above is a bit optomistic and i wouldnt want to try run that from a k03s, if you could even get it out of a k03s).
k04 depends upon the model.
k04-001 is a direct swap for a k03/k03s and will see you about 10bhp more however i believe is a little more torquie further down the rev range.
k04-025 is not a direct swap and will require manifolds etc. and can see best part of 300bhp.
a good hybrid is the k03s housing with the audi tt 225 internals, this will see around 280bhp and responsive with little turbo lag due to the small housing.

The k03 woth every mod under the sun will max out at about 200bhp.
A k03s if taken to R-tech with a decent flowin setup will average about 240-250bhp the max ever out of a k03s is 264bhp.
The best k03 hybrid is the beach buggy turbos k300 and will comfortably do 300bhp 300lbft and on one set up as reached 320bhp!!
K04 will need manifold, downpipe, tip, intercooler pipes. Aswell as the rest of the stage 2+ mods needed for 300bhp.
Standard k04 on standard mani will reach about 280-290bhp
With a relentless pro4 mani will reach 300-310 bhp.
K04 hybrid will reach anywhere from 330-360bhp depending on which hybrid it is.
If you go for any of the higher powers (300bhp)
I would high recommend forged rods.

k300 will max out around 340 bhp but its not reliable for that, way past the efficiency of the turbo and egt are unsafe. Circa 300bhp is safe, mine made 310bhp on Bill's dyno with a smidge over 1 bar boost, mapped by Bill at badger5, been running that for a while now, impressive power delivery for what is a very small turbo and reliable.
