Title: Dissed by a mob of 8 year olds

I stopped on the approach to a T junction to let a large group of scooter wielding young lads cross ahead of me.

They all had a good stare at my GTD as I approached, and I found myself thinking - yep, it's a fine looking motor isn't it - yes, yes, look at those DRL's - I would have been interested when I was a lad too... but as I pulled away my thoughts of pride were quickly halted by one of them chirping up:

"Aww, I thought it was a GTI".

Awesome. :)

Great stuff, thats why I 50 year old like me orgdered the GTI instead of the GTD as want to stay in the" in crowd"  :grin::grin:

Have to say each to their own.  But come to think of it, it is only my GTI Performance amongst a small group of MK7 GTD's in the car park at work which people comment on.  It must be so gutting to be dissed by children like that about your GTD.  But on the other hand the way to look at it is how many of those kids can legally drive or afford your car  :smiley:

Chances are,
 you could have stopped in an R and they would have said the same thing.

You are probably right, if it's anything other than a GTI, the most well known hot hatch brand of all golf models,  kids would probably mug you off.  I suspect if they saw a R400 pull up they would probably think it was a GTI   :laugh:

Lol, you can't argue with however many years of pedigree the GTI has. I could have shouted out the window "I have chequered seats you know!", but it seemed in vain.

I'm going to have to rethink my life before it's time for my next car.  :whistle:
