Title: Which MK6 GTi battery type?
Post by: Pld118 on 14 September 2014, 08:08
Hi, the GTi needs a new battery.

The current battery is a Varta 1JO 915 105 AC

These batteries say that they are guaranteed for x number of years although I'm not sure whether or not there is any marking on the battery that indicates it's age?

Anyhow, is this the best battery for the MK6 GTi or do people recommend a good battery that the car won't quickly eat?

Thanks.

Modern batteries are all poor sadly thanks to the ecomentalists.
If you look at the top of the battery it will tell you the amp rating 63A for example and the cranking rating in amps(A) and the battery type probably 063 (that is the type for shape and size and terminal location) Just go to somewere like eurocarparts.com and buy one of the same type and power. Even a local motorfactors.
