Post by: Ashleyh46 on 09 September 2014, 19:06
Anybody got any good advise on what make of lowering springs to buy. And what would be a practical drop.

Eibach or H&R are a safe bet

20-30mm will reduce the arch gap without any risk of wheels catching on the arches when cornering.

I've been looking into this also seem about 35mm is about right to completely close the arch gap... My concern is also about tyres on body work

35mm won't cause the tyres to rub on the bodywork anymore than the standard ones will. The standard suspension will compress to more than -35mm during normal driving and turning anyway.

The firmer springs will be less resistant to compression than the standard ones, therefore at their extremities there will be little difference.

Lowering the car is more likely to result in the chassis catching the ground on ramps and speed bumps, than the tyres rubbing the bodywork.

Saying that my h&r springs 35 mm rub a little bit when cornering?
