Title: KO3s
Post by: thfc_123 on 05 September 2014, 16:32
Hi. What's a rough price for a decent second hand KO3s turbo. Also does anyone know a rough labour time for removal and refitting?  Thanks

It seems that a decent condition K03s will go for about 150 then up to and around 100 for one in good condition

Is there a simple guide to taking off the turbo? or does it all involve draining of oil removing exhaust manifold and that?

Yes you need to drain the oil and coolant, the turbo is mainly supported from the top (through the manifold 3 bolts) and onto the downpipe, you need to remove the coolant and oil lines which is a pita, as is swapping from the top of the car to the bottom all the time.

Remove boost pipework
Remove manifold
Remove supporting bracket
Remove 4x bolts on downpipe
Remove oil drain from TURBO side
Remove coolant feed from block
Remove oil feed line at turbo banjo
Remove TIP from where rubber meets metal part (if OEM TIP)  Turbo if aftermarket
Lift turbo out the top.
