Hey all!!! (Again!!!)
When doing a pressure test, if I block at the tb and pressurise from just after the turbo, it holds.
But, if I block the tb and pressurise from the tip, I get a gloopy bubbling sound from the back of the engine (sounds like its coming from in the sump :undecided: )
Is this normal?
-
you got a modern pic of the bay?
surely any bubbling would be the pressure making the oil in the sump bubble?
-
Well that's what I thought but is air meant to get it there via (I think) the turbo?
I'll get some pics soon!!!
-
Cut my pressure tester down to a reasonable size and plugged into tip and it held preesure until dip stick or oil filler cap was removed then i got the gurggle/bubbling sound. Blew some smoke through the system and came out oil filler cap only. Does this mean i have no vac leaks?
-
You still got the hockey puck etc all connected?
-
Yep, didn't disconnect anything else. Was hoping to find a leak somewhere but it doesn't appear to have one.
-
Makes sense.... As my breathers are straight to atmosphere that's why my 'bubbling' is straight away, so if I were to block them both it should hold pressure in the block (didn't think this was any good to do :undecided: )
Did you block the pipework at the tb?
-
Held pressure under my own breath and it blew back when releasing me gob  Didn't connect my compressor with regulator yet as not totally confident in what i'm doing.
Left tb alone, i guess it would be in the closed position when engine not running but would that be air tight :undecided: I wouldn't of thought so
