Title: flywheel
Post by: davidgtrr34 on 02 September 2014, 09:26
The dmf is gone and I want to fit a SMF. Do I need to buy a full clutch kit or can I still use the old clutch and pressure plate. The clutch and pressure plate were only done 2000miles ago

sashs clutch and g60 flywheel is the usual upgrate. have a search for it plenty of info, including info on the part numbers for the g60 flywheel and info on the trade system vw have (or had, assume they still do it) where you can buy a cheep flywheel from a scrap yard, take it to vw and trade it in and save some money iirc

Spec stage 3 here, it bites hard but is useable on the roads, little grabby when trying to park. Think it's the 7kg flywheel I got so it's not too light for road use but you do have to give it a bit more throttle when moving off. The biting point is lower and the pedal stiffer. Good bit of kit and able to handle a healthy amount of power.
