So the other day I saw my first tyre pressure warning - nothing too odd about that you might think...
But it activated for all 4 tyres simultaneously - and no, I hadn't driven over a stinger (they weren't even chasing me *ahem* at the time)
Checked all the pressures, they are fine, reset the system and everything's good since.
Anyone else had it spaz out like this?
Cheers

It does this occasionally.

Thanks - I wondered if it was to do with a rapid temperature change or something? It had got really cold and wet the other afternoon up here.
-
Mine did it over the weekend. Checked the pressures and all seemed fine, so I just reset it too. It'd be useful if it would tell you which tyre is the problem...
-
It does tell you if you have a problem with a specific tyre. In this case it sounds like the system just needed a reset.
-
Yeah someone I know had it go off once before, but warning about a specific tyre, so I guess it does work.

Oh really? Mine just gave a generic warning about the tyre pressures but definitely didn't specify which one. The graphic of the car was displayed on screen with all tyres highlighted!

Mine went off with a non specific warning the first time I did a long journey after changing the wheels and tyres. I reset it and haven't had any repeat since.

It definately detects loss of pressure and tells you which one as mine told me i had a problem with osr. It works from the abs sensors so if both back tyres go down together it wont dtec a problem.

Just out of curiosity what should the tyre pressure be, when my warning went of I checked & found I had 42psi which seems very high.
-
What do you mean when you say "it activated all 4 tyres simultaneously"?
I think on the car screen all four light up - but you can look up which one it is.
My nearside rear tyre had a slow leak which triggered the alarm a few times before I had it replaced.

The pressures are either in the handbook or on the fuel filler cap. I can't believe people take so little notice of tyre pressure these days. I check mine once a week, only takes 5 mins!

It showed all of them at fault - don't think it offered any selection to show which, but I could be wrong.

not on my golf but my octavia's triggered when i was carrying a heavy boot load to the dump.
