I have been looking everywhere to find a home for my mk2 rocco project. Can get council lock ups and field storage, none of which make it viable to do any work on while it's there. Where are good places to look for car storage, I'm starting to consider going door to door for drive space as I'm getting desperate?

I had this problem a few months back. There was nothing which was affordable enough. The only option I had was to get it insured under my Dads name (I wouldnt be able to drive it), keep it insured and taxed (and therefore MOT'ed, tricky on a project) and leave it on the street, which was going to cost about £500 a year. So by far the cheapest. But being on a street is not ideal for a project. I almost asked a few neighbours with garages, but my plans changed so I didnt have to in the end.
Self storage style lockups are expensive, and only a few actually let you work on the car while you are there, so they werent an option either.
Other than being broken into every other week, why cant you work in a council garage?

Speak to a farmer. They usually have lockups. One downside is the dust but still under a roof.
Found a guy locally who has a caravan storage facility. £5 a day at the cheapest rate and that was indoors - a good temp solution.
Not a fan leaving it in a council garage but can be cheap.

I can store it in a council garage but due to the size I would have to wheel it out to do work. If any work aka engine change required it to be on stands for over a day then it can't be done as I couldn't put it back again. Also would have to take tools back and forth with the added downside of no electrics while there.
Also I don't think my poorly apprentice wage could afford £150 a month for caravan storage place. Best get knocking door to door.
