Anyone of you good people out there know what this black box is on the side of the throttle body 1.8t agu, my car just cut out while driving won't restart properly and when it does eventually start again it cuts straight out with no throttle response and this box is making a weird noise. Any help would be great cos it's at the side of the road lol
Thanks

That's the throttle body!!! It's got all the electrics in it to open/ close the butterfly, take the boost hose off it and see what it's doing when the ignition is on

Hi mate took the hose off and it's clean and dry inside and moving I looked at the intercooler end and there's oil in there

that looks like a cable throttle so wont do much when ignition is turned on

is it making a weird noise when you turn the ignition on with the drivers door open? If so this is the throttle body trying to reset itself and is normal
