Title: Door wont open
Post by: benmanc on 16 August 2014, 21:47
I have a problem with front passanger door.

Recently replaced door lock module with a new (not oem) unit as it deadlocked shut intermittantly.

That was a few weeks ago.

Yesterday a new problem happened.

It now unlocks and locks but wont actually open. The pin pops up and down but when i pull the handle from either inside or outside it just does nothing.

Basically the same feel and sound it would make if the door was open i.e. No unlock noise etc. if that makes sense?

Ideas?

I have investigated and the cable is in tact that attached to the outside handle.

Anybody got any ideas?

Iv had the same problem. My money is still on the cable being a wee bit loose and not quite pulling enough too release the locks.I made my cable a tiny bit shorter with the use of a crimp and a few cable ties.Inside and outside work just fine now it was a bugger to sort tho.All the best james.

Was it too short or too long?

HI it wasn't pulling both latchs enough so it was to short.I found if crimped it to short the outer handle wont open the car but the inside would. Its a balance thing to get it just right.Maybe it stretched over time,i have no idea buddy.cheers james.
