Can journals get your clutch adjusted because my bite seems to be far to high up on the pedal

I've had it from 6 miles on the clock and to be fair it's not been great from day 1.  It surely can't be my driving can it

Yes had a mk5 manual GTI followed by mk5 and mk6 DSG GTIs.  I love DSG, and wouldn't go back to a manual now.  There is a learning curve, you drive in slightly different way and it takes a few weeks to get used to, but after that, it's simply great.  Best of both worlds, with the manual paddles when you want to take control or stick it in Drive for easy, effortless motoring.  Pacy, smooth gear changes, it really suits the GTI imo, particularly when coupled with Adaptive Chassis Control.

Being critical, in Drive mode it up/downshifts too quickly, and in Sport, too late.  Somewhere in the middle of the two would be ideal but you can't have everything

It doesn't suit everyone and I'd advise test driving a car with it first (though you really need longer to get to know it).  There are those who think it's detached drive with less driver involvement but they can stick with manual.

Did you mentioned it to the dealer when you bought the car?

The main ways to knacker a clutch is holding on it instead of using the hand brake and the worst thing for it is pulls from low speeds in 5th and 6th gear

Well I picked it up from the dealers 2 wheels replaced and the clutch is fine. Whilst I was there I took a quick look at the used car lot and there was at least a dozen gti's sat their waiting to be sold. I wonder if they are making more mk7"s than mk6"s
