Title: brake pads front

hi I have a agu gti 1.8t golf 1999 don't think it has a wear indicator the pads I just got has got a wire do I just cut it off and it will be ok thank you

You'll have a wear indicator built in but you don't have to use it. You can either code it out in VAG COM or bridge the terminals so the light goes out

up to 00 they didn't have wear indicators but use an identical size/shape pad, Just chop the wire off and all will be good.

mine is a 99 agu , and I do have wear indicators.

doesn't surprise me, VW list them as up to 99 without and 00 onwards with (I guess they changed for model year 00, so mid 99 really?)
