Title: Left hand control stalk button not used?
Post by: double0 on 11 August 2014, 19:38
So my GTI PP is coming up for it's first annual service (less than 4k miles but it's included in the paid for 3 year plan so why not)!  Anyhow something I will get checked at service if can't confirm here is re. the button on the left hand control stalk which I thought would be used for cruise control?  Is it not used if you have the multifunction wheel on GTI as mine seems to not do anything?  Cruise etc all works fine using the wheel controls.  Appreciate if someone could check on theirs?  Cheers

It should bring up the Front Assist options in the MFD when you press it, allowing you to switch it on or off.

Ok cheers - will check to see if it does anything re. front assist and if not get sorted at first service.

That button also brings up the option to disable lane assist if you have it fitted.

Pressing it on my car does nothing. I thought it'd only display if you had lane assist.

Cheers - looks like that might be the case then i.e only has a function if more than one assist option?  Thanks Kevin's for taking the time to grab a pic of yours with lane assist.

Kevin your dials look so much cleaner than the ones that have MPH on them :(

Ya having both scales on the speedo makes it look very cluttered. IIRC, vw did a speedo with just mph on it for a while on the mk6

Yeah I was hoping that the dials would just have MPH with an option for KPH in the MFD.

No. I don't have lane assist but still get Front Assist coming up if I press the left hand stalk button.

Same here.  Just get the option to disable front assist when I press that button.

Mentioned the problem at first service and got it sorted with a replacement part.  Pressing the stalk button now brings up Front Assist.  Kyleb - think you said yours didn't function either so could be a known fault.

Yeah mine doesn't do anything so I'll speak with the garage. Cheers.
