Only ones I woukd consider is the US one with brake light, Votex with break light (all with the three fixing screws to the rear glass not bonded) painted VR ones and normal.

I made mistake of buying one where had to drill two holes in tailgate,  biggest mistake to date.

Lol yeah it looked terrible,  pretty sure it was a Hella one too. Had to drill 2 holes either side of the tailgate and it just looked so out of place :lipsrsealed:

I have a brand new bond on Votex one still sitting in the box waiting to be installed once I get round to it. At the bottom of a long list though

Hate the bond on sh!t. The three screws through window are the way to go

I'm guessing as you have nearly 1500 posts you know what you are talking about, but just in case you don't; you are aware that the screwed on ones are also bonded on?
The Votex one I have was a dealer option when the Mk3 came out.

the original standard ones are screwed on and have a line of sealant on them to stop water seeping through and running down the rear screen, the sealant is a bit like Dum Dum.If you were to remove the nuts from the studs and drive around it would soon fall off.A properly bonded one will not do that and does'nt need screws at all.

I have a Heckspoiler and a Votex with brakelight (very heavy) and neither use screws.

Gasket face is right, but my point was that the original GTi spoiler isn't 'just' screwed on.

It uses sealant/bond to fill a gap, but I see no difference between bond/sealant if it's there anyway. I'd prefer a rear screen without holes over the bonded spoiler.

Anyway.....

It's about time I got mine mounted!
