Title: Jacking/Axle Stand Points
Post by: Mr Savage on 10 August 2014, 21:16
Hello guys,

I have searched the internet here and far and noone has seemed to manage to find suitable points on the front or rear to get the car on axle stands.

The manual shows 4 jacking points under the sills near the front and rear wheels but no axle stand points. Which I may have to end up doing but I don't really want to use the scissor jack you get with the car and would rather get it up on a trolley jack. I'm planning on painting the wheel hubs that have already begun rusting.

Has anyone had their MK7 up on a trolley jack or on axle stands?

Cheers guys,

I have the rears fitted and have the fronts ready to go. I can't find the trim that goes around the front jacking point.

Great. Thanks for the pics. I think the front axle stand positions is somewhere near the wishbone and where the subframe joins.

I know where the point are. I have removed the piece of underbody trim covering them. The issue is that if I fit the jacking points, the piece of trim covering the point will no longer fit. This will leave a big gap in the underbody trim. I would be worried dirt could then get between the body and trim and also the trim might get caught by debris.

EDIT: I just re-read my first post and I wasn't very clear. I mean I can't find the piece of trim for around the jacking point in etka.

I have used the points in this thread with no problem. I use short ratchet axle stands with the optional rubber cushion and trolley jack from SGS.
