Hi Guys any one seen an alarm shown briefly on the display which looks like two cars bonnet to bonnet with a ! between them? looked in the manual but can't find any info shows up near the acc indicator acc not on.

It shows when the car thinks you are too close to the one in front.
Like you are below the min stopping distance.
-
Or tailgating

Yeah I've had a few times pulling onto a fast flowing roundabout. Like others have said, the car thinks its too close to the car in front.
I've also had the red chevrons on the display.
Don't know what the difference is to be honest.

the dealer told me that if you get the red chevron you should stop and turn off and on the ignition.
reason being if you get that indication twice on the same journey the car thinks that the radar sensor is faulty and will require a trip to the dealer to reset it (which will be chargeable)
the graphic with the ! that replaces the mileage is just a you're tailgating indicator.

sorry but thats complete and utter rollocks! And frankly a bit dangerous IMO
I've had the indication (and sometimes even intervention) multiple times on the same trip without any issue

that's good to know - thanks
I think there was an assumption that you stop and cycle the ignition in a safe place, not the outside lane of the M25 :)

Red chevrons are there as a visual warning from the radar system. You got too close for comfort and the car issued a warning and may have braked for you also. Let it go out on it's own after 20s or so, or press the "ok" button on the stereo.g wheel to get rid of the warning graphic.

JohnH the fact the dealer has told you it is chargeable is just laughable. Even if the radar did think it was faulty why would you be charged to reset a fault the car had thrown up?
