Right. I've just purchased a 64gb sd card. Transfered music in 5 folders and put it in my mk7 Golf GTD. Says unable to read, what am I missing? Help guys
-
It probably needs to be formatted in Fat32 rather than exFat that it will have been formatted in.
-
Thanks.
Just on format. It only has NTFS and exFAT option :-(

Although this site suggests that exfat will work but then others have said it needs to be fat32

Right guys. I stayed up til 3.30 in morning, finally got my sd card formatted to Fat32, jumped in car and put sd card in 'unable to read sd card' I feel helpless and tired  why won't it play? 64gb micro sd card with adapter
I used EASEus to format to FAT32
Please help if you've had the same problem.
Thanks for your precious time guys (would really appreciate it)

Oh dear, sorry to hear that. Try following my previous post.

Maybe something to do with the adaptor!?!
I'm sure I had something similar in the Mk6. The card with adaptor worked fine in the PC but in the RNS it couldn't be read.

64gb micro sd card with adapter
There you go, that's your problem. As far as I know, it states in the manual to only use SD/SDHC not microsd with adapter.
I've got a 32GB SDHC Class 10 and works a treat.
-
My bets are on it will only allow up to 32GB's like the Audi's
-
In the manual it says SDHC up to 32 GB and SDXC up to 2 TB

Micro SD in SD adapter works fine in my CMS.

i'm using a 128GB without issues

Ah. Cheers for replies guys.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

That will be a SDXC card..
-
As said above, cards over 32GB have to be SDXC. I'm using a 64GB SDXC without problems
-
in case it helps, this is the card I use

I got you covered. I bought a SANDISK 400 GB (four hundred GigaBytes) microSDXC and I got it to finally work in my Golf 7. So, what you need to do is use EaseUS Partition Master or something similar, format the drive as FAT32, but what you ABSOLUTELY NEED TO DO is to make that partition a PRIMARY one. By default, in EaseUS Partition Master when you create a partition, you are presented with all these options, size, allocation size, drive letter, type but it is only when you click ADVANCED you can choose wheater the new partition will be a LOGICAL one or PRIMARY. Logical partition is the default option. I chose PRIMARY and the microSD was visible. That is the key, the SD partition NEED to be set as a PRIMARY partition. When I created a logical FAT32 partition, the car was unable to read the SD.
