Hey guys, I have some light surface swirl marks on my bonnet. Not sure how they got there but I am going to assume I have used a bad chamois. Anyone have any tips on removing or covering these sort of marks with metalic paint?

Get it machine polished. Buy a dual action polisher and did, else get a pro to detail the car and seal it.
-
A machine polish will take them out.
However if it is very light and can only be seen in direct sunshine, you can be guaranteed you will reintroduce them the next time you was the car.

Treat ya self to a decent wash mitt etc to avoid in the future and also get a polish with a flier in it, like poorboys black hole or diamond white.

Black Hole is pretty effective for filling lighting marks. I've used it on some marks on the door and you really have to look very closely to see them.
And yes, to minimise swirls in the first place, use a good wash mitt  and 2 bucket method

Are you guys saying that a decent DA won't permanently correct the swirls?
On a slightly added note....if you do DA and then get a good wax and it's durable surely you shouldn't see em? Polish with a filler, and then durable wax over the top should effectively seal the polish in, no?
Does Collinite 476 really last anywhere between 6-12 months?

No, we're saying a machine polish should remove the swirls (subject to correct technique and pad and polish combo). However, also saying that to minimise swirls in first place, a good washing regime and mitt will help no end.
If you want to go whole hog then: polish, optional glaze (with filler properties), sealant and/or wax.
Not used 476 so don't know if it lasts that long.

Collinite 845 lasts about 4 months on my daily driver which does about 20,000 a year, is never garaged and is washed weekly. 476s is supposed to be more durable than that so maybe 6 months but I'd say 12 is a push!

Might have to have a look at Collinite then as I need a more durable jobbie. Sorry if I was misreading the thread just didn't seem right lol

+1 for Collinite 845. Being a liquid, it's really easy to apply as well.
