Anyone know why it hunts like this on idol?
http://youtu.be/ia0XXkGnsg0

mine used to do that, and it turned out to be a dirty throttle body, so you could try that
also you could try cleaning your iat sensor too, as both of these cause a lumpy idle.
you normally need to reset the throttle body using vagcom after, if you do clean the throttle body that is

Good suggestions but I cleaned the TB and realigned it befor the remap (was ment to say it's just been mapped)
And what's a iat sensor?!!!
Cheers!!
-
I think the IAT is sensor just after TB and is bolted in with a hex bolt.
-
the one that reads the temp in the mani?
-
Yeah that's the one. It builds up with all the crap that coats the TB. Worth a go at least anyway. Is you MAF alright?
-
well tbh when I cleaned the tb I also cleaned this sensor and the inside of the mani so it was nice and clean..... ill try the other sensor I got tonight thou....
maf should be alright as its the one they used on it when they mapped it so they should have picked it up if it was faulty
-
Maybe a vacuum leak somewhere? though, they normally check for them prior to remapping
-
I'd also suggest a minor vac leak
-
Looks like I'm gonna have to DIY smoke test/ pressure test then!!!!
-
Rio, what have you broken now
does it hunt when cold or up to temp?
-
all the time
-
fault codes?
who mapped it? have you spoken to them?
-
Mine does this too. It never sits still. You sure this is not normal. :undecided:

No its definitely not normal, hunting is a sign that something somewhere is not getting the correct readings and trying to adjust to compensate

I would have thoguht a vac leak somewhere or the MAF?
