Title: Window problem!
Post by: golf turbo47 on 26 July 2014, 09:06
Hello all. So my passenger front window has decided to stay down on this hot heat wave lol. The question I got is the plastic clips are broken can I replace them with the later metal ones or do I have to get the original plastic ones? Cheers.

Vw no longer do the plastic ones. They only do the metal ones. However to buy them you have to buy a window repair kit which includes many parts. IMO buy metal clips off ebay for a few quid. Or even plastic ones they will last a good few years.

I don't think VW supply metal ones now, they're made of a different type of plastic so not as prone to breaking (same as the water pumps)

I had this problem and was going to replace the clips but once I took the door card off and got in I found the cable was mangled so needed the whole kit
