Has anyone faced any problems, with the back end where it feels like its wobbly/slipping when driving.if you go over bumps it does feel like it keeps bouncing. I have pushed down on the back end and the suspension does not seem to be bouncy, but makes a awful sound when you keep bouncing it.
Also just started is front end vibration worst point at 60 from passenger side front, thought maybe tracking, bad tyre but its not been knocked or anything, and this seems to have started scince the back end trouble
sorry I can not explain it much better,
Thanks
Chris

rear beam bushings
-
thanks mate, will have a look at those, will be jacking it up at weekend, just nice to have some possibilities to look for
-
could anyone tell me the risks of driving a car, if they have gone or what could happen? can not really do anything until next week, and after reading up on changing these it does not look simple, how hard just to take the rear axle of a scrapped mk3 and fit them that way
Thanks

sorry so many questions, is this the right part from eurocarparts rear subframe bush
-
Its pretty hard to tell if the beam bushes are fckd by looking at them.
Get a big tire lever in there and see if you can move it both sides, its meant to have some play but not loads if they are falling to bits and they move quite a lot then that's a good clue
Take care while its on the stands though
Don't worry to much, just don't chuck it around until its fixed as it can give you a snap over-steer if you load it up in a fast corner.
Its not that hard to do just take a bit of elbow grease, forget the extra axle sounds like a lot of work unless you want it to be shiny
Have you checked the rear top mounts/spring plates?
These can work through and eventually pop into the cabin and fire the parcel shelf up :lipsrsealed:

Easier just to change your bushes.
Front end sounds like wheel balance. Check tyres.
Yes you need rear subframe bush

oooo with the parcel shelf, it does snap when turning corners, does it when road is uneven. bumps, lumps wife is driving it and she is worried about it. also drivers semm to back off behind, not sure if they can see something or just co incidance

Are the wheels done up :lipsrsealed:
Sounds like you need bushes, its not that hard and good practice for your swearing
My rear left strut came through in a corner once, brown trousers :lipsrsealed:

Check and see how bad your rear shocks plus top mounts are.
-
I will say rear axle mounts (when bad they give a feeling of rear steer as the axle moves around corner's)... I would also check condition of your rear shockers as they will fail really quick with worn bushes! (the mounts are simply rubber and rarely fail, although I always fit a set when changing shockers as they are cheap)
Mine are £23 a pair with new bolts http://oemandmore.co.uk/rear-axle-beam-mounting-kit-febi-pro-kit-351-p.asp (http://oemandmore.co.uk/rear-axle-beam-mounting-kit-febi-pro-kit-351-p.asp)

ok just had the car up def shock problem, oil all over the place. this might explain a few things :smug: will change this and fingers crossed that will fix it all, mounts look good, no movement

For what the top shock mounts cost I would replace them.

agree with you there, will replace at the same time
