Title: knock knock, whos there?
Post by: sharki786 on 24 July 2014, 08:20
Front end is making a racket. Basically as im driving the driver side is knocking. It was originaly the pas side but now its the drivers side. On a straight line the knock is rediculous. The wishbones have been poly bushed. I replaced the top mounts about a year ago with febi. But still there. Anyone shed any light?

Have you checked for any loose bolts?

Best thing to do is jack the front up and check for movement.

second for jacking it up and checking everything.

grab your tyre, try to rock it back to front then up and down. then try twisting side to side then twist up and down.

then rotate the wheel forwards and backwards.

I had a horrible knock on my rear.. couldnt figure it out..

then realised I forgot to replace one of the rear caliper bolts when I did the ABS sensor..

caliper was flipping up and smacking the inside of my wheel every bump

Depends what you mean by sticking dude

If you mean the top of the strut isn't compressing into the bottom and coming back out smoothly then need to check it hasn't blown and leaked all its oil.. If so then the strut will seize and it needs replacing.

If it's just just a bit stiff from road grime you might be lucky and cleaning it loads might save it.
