Title: Golf 130 poor start

Hi there. Not long bought my golf tdi 130 and have noticed when it's low on diesel (just above red) it really struggles to start but as soon as it above 1/4 tank it starts first time. Anyone able to help?

i had a similar problem with my mk4 (petrol) - then a month later i had to put a new fuel pump in because it packed in completely. do you get a constant humming noise from the back seat area while driving? if so thats your fuel pump struggling.
