Title: Which front engine mount

Hi,

i have a j plate Mk2 GTi 1.8 8v and need to replace the front engine mount. Im a bit confused which one i need. VW heritage list 2 and they both seem to be suitable?

I'd establish which version is already fitted to your car, and perhaps duplicate it. although it almost certainly wont be the one fitted when the car was built.

The first version is oil filled, and has shock absorbing characteristics, for smoother clutch take up/gear changes etc.

2nd version is just a solid rubber version, just less refined...

I'd go for the first option

isnt the pure rubber one a little more hard wearing thsn the oil filled one?

Thanks for the advice. I fitted the hydro mount tonight, no dramas a either a nice and easy job. The old was was a right mess
