Title: Possible wheel bearings.
Post by: GTiIVTurbo on 14 July 2014, 02:46
When driving over 70mph in my 1.8t my steering wheel shakes uncontrollably. And this continues as I accelerate. It stops immediately as I take my foot off the accelerator. Is this due to the wheel bearings?

Thanks folks.

I'm just on my way to get the balancing done anyway so can rule that out if all is good with that.

Sounds like the wheels. Have you got much tread left on the fronts?

Tyres are fine. As well is tyre pressure.

get the balance checked, then as matty said above, ball joint ends before looking at others.

I had wobble back a few eeks back, simple balance took the shakies away
